This is nice, a response to the very powerful A Vision of Students Today video about which I have blogged in the past. (And hat-tip to the awesome Angela Maiers).
Favorite lines from the video:
Adapting and evolving, teachers digitally empower diverse learners to connect, communicate, collaborate, and create in an interactive, technology rich environment.
Students blog about issues in their lives and the world around them.
On our class blogs, students speak up…..even the shy ones (Yay! I was a shy student with a LOT to say, and how I wish, wish, wish I had had a blog/wiki/ning environment to participate).
It is not just about technology itself, it’s about unleashing the powers that students bring with them into the classroom.
It’s about teaching students to be comfortable with uncertainty.
Envision it, and then make it happen.

Thanks for the positive reaction to our video. All participants are real classroom teachers describing what actually happens in their classrooms.
Teaching does take daring and a commitment to continued learning–certainly never more than now.

My favorite line (paraphrased, I think): who dares to teach must also dare to learn. Great response to the student video!
I do think good teachers always want to learn. And it strikes me that some of them may not learn the same way as this generation of students, so the challenge is the same as in the classroom, to try to meet each learner in a way that will maximize understanding. Teaching teachers to teach students is more important, and more challenging, than ever before.
